Review on Beauty & BUTTER Megamall

I went to Beauty and BUTTER at SM Megamall last week for eyebrow threading and pedicure. Service went well. I like how colorful and artistic the salon is. I even noticed that they have a number of iPad tablets that they let their customers (especially to kids who are with their parents) borrow so they can surf & browse the internet and play games (Temple Run  - anyone?) while waiting. How cool is that?!?

Previously, their salon was located at the 5th Floor of SM Megamall Building A (bigger area) and a few months ago, they moved to Building B (smaller area but now they offer body scrub services: organic, paradiso). When I asked why they moved, the attendant told me that several services, one example is the body scrub, can only be offered if the salon is located in Building B. Huh? I'm telling you, I sometimes don't understand the world of mall management...do you?

There were a number of clients that day (which was a Friday - past lunch time). Majority of them were having the "nail art" service. Seated beside me was a teen having her "nail art" session and I can say, it was truly an art. The nail art she chose looked something like strawberry with leaves - very simple yet beautiful. Looking at their price list, their nail art service ranges from PHP 280.00 - PHP 800.00. Then there's also the Minx Nails service which costs a whopping PHP 2,500.00. I don't know what it is and what will be done to your nails, but I hope it's something beyond extraordinary to justify the cost.

That day, the nail technician/attendant seemed very excited to tell me about the wonderful products that they carry (or they're trained to be that way? yeah, there goes upselling!)

Next thing she mentioned was some sort of highly-effective cream from Obagi. I told her I'm not into creams as my face tends to itch real quick having totally, sensitive skin for as long as I can remember. In fact, I can never sleep with night creams! Oh, I've tried so many times but I really can't. I would wake up with red blotches on my face! Sheesh, definitely not the result you want from a beauty/night cream. I'm sure to be a disaster advertisement and proof for night creams LOL

That day before going to their salon, I had to stop by Etude House to get my usual facial cleansers and try out some of their new products as well. That's why I was carrying a paper bag with the shop's name on it and when the attendant noticed it, she asked what I bought. I then told her the contents of the bag: acne facial foam, white trouble bubble cleanser, red spot balm pack, anti-shine mist and Precious Mineral BB cream.

She then urged me to try their BB cream, went to get it and applied a generous amount on to the back of my hand. According to her, their BB cream is very light, oil-free, water-based and works as a moisturizer without the greasy feel and is water-resistant too (which I think is great if you've got oily skin and of course, since it's summer right now - yay, off to Boracay!).

I liked how the cream felt on my hand - it felt really light and silky without the usual sticky/greasy feel of a BB cream. But still, I don't know how it will be on my face, right? So it's a good thing they have a 15ml just good enough for testing purposes! The name of the BB cream is Elisha Coy - Always Nuddy BB 24 and the 15ml costs less than PHP 400. I then paid everything using my ever-dependable BPI ATM card (thru BPI-EPS). With my new pedicure using organic nail polish, newly-threaded eyebrows, free Beauty & BUTTER loyalty card, latest BB cream purchase, my usual & latest haul from Etude House, I drove home feeling "almost complete". All that's missing is my favorite Pearl Milk tea from Chatime :-).
